Fallon Ford-Toyota was started in 1956, located on the old highway which is now Center Street where the Towne Square Mall is located today.Â
Howard Henning and his wife Pat bought into the company in 1960 along with several other local partners. Howard became the President of the company shortly after buying in. His expertise was in building homes, and he was planning on being a silent partner, but he had to quickly learn about the car business as it needed serious help to stay afloat and he didn't want to lose his new investment. So, he switched from building homes to managing a car business.Â
Howie learned about the car business and became a successful auto dealer over the years. He quickly outgrew the property and began to look for a new location.Â
The perfect piece of property was found on Williams Ave and a new dealership was built in 1976. Our inventory went from 10-15 new cars and 10-15 used cars on Center Street to the large inventory that it now carries. Howie and Pat's son Kurt began working at the dealership in 1970, starting in the detail, service, parts and sales departments, and in 1992 he became a co-dealer along with his father. Kurt and his wife Debi bought out 2 other company partners and the dealership was now fully owned by the Henning family. The Toyota franchise was added in 1980.  Chris Henning, the oldest son of Kurt and Debi, began working in the detail department in 1991. He graduated from UNR with a business degree and graduated from the National Auto Dealers Association's Dealer Academy. He worked in every department of the store and now is the Dealer Principle for Ford and Toyota. Clint Henning, the youngest son of Kurt and Debi, began working in the Detail department in 1993, and over the years has worked in every department. Clint's expertise lies mostly in vehicle acquisition and reconditioning, and he co-manages the dealership alongside his brother.Â
The Henning's love their roots in Fallon and are active in the community. Howard, Kurt and Chris have been active volunteer firemen. Howard had 28 years in the department, Kurt had 27 years, and Chris who is still active has almost 20 years in the local fire department. Clint has been an active volunteer firefighter in the small town of Jarbidge Nevada for the past 7 years.
